More property details

For sale or exchange, a well built stone house , formerly a farm with vineyard .

The property comprises main house, several barns, bodega, bread oven, balcony and covered terrace, with approximately 9000m2 of mostly cleared land ready for cultivation, the remainder being woodland.

The property is south facing and has uninterrupted views of the valley . The river mino is only a 10 minute drive on the local road and it sits amongst the many vineyards of the famous Ribera sacra wine region of Spain. The local towns are Escairon (8kms) 35 to 45 mins by bike or Ferreira da Panton (7kms) 30 40 mins cycle. Each has schools, banks, medical centres and shops. Monforte de Lemos is the nearest `big`town and is about 15kms .The coast is approximately 1 12 hour drive.

The property has its own water source with a fountain. It runs all year. There are a number of fruit and nut trees on the property: apple, peach, pear, nectarine, cherry, plum, grape vines, apricot , quince. Hazel , black and green walnut , chestnut.

This is a beautiful agricultural region, with vast stretches of green landscape not normally associated with drier areas of Spain. The house is at a good elevation to enjoy its own micro climate which softens any extremes of weather. The soil and area has not received any chemical treatment whatsoever since my ownership. Many useful herbs and plants can be found on the land: St johns wort, arnica, comfrey, willow, elder and more.

The main house has a courtyard, a south facing balcony overlooking the valley and forest, barns and bread oven attached .There are two levels 150m2 on each, the top level divided into 8 rooms and the lower level which previously was used to house stock .The bodega has a new roof and measures approx 50m2 on each level. Upper level has new flooring and beams. All the original wood has been restored where possible.
