The timber in the house is all locally sourced, with Elm, Sycamore and pine flooring, Elm beams and ceiling boards, Scots pine joists and kitchen units. Only natural finishes and materials were used in the building construction.

The exterior is timber cladded with cedar shingles.

The house is situated 1.5 miles from Ballydehob village - a thriving and happening little place, with great music sessions, many arts and crafts people, as well as two schools, two churches, a wholefood shop, Holistic center, playschool and Steiner kindergarten, and the school bus for secondary school goes past the gate.

It is just off the N71 - the Wild Atlantic way.
